Settled households, owners and renters, on a standard connection, in an area we have switched on.
Urban or rural, weatherboard or brick, as long as your street is in an area we have switched on. Nothing else is required of you. We check your switchboard before install day and tell you in advance if any minor work is needed.
You can join with your landlord's written sign off on the install, and that is the only thing they sign. The battery is ours, it is fitted without damage, and we take it away at the end of the term. There is a one page pack you can send them.
The three-year agreement suits a long tenancy. If you move and we serve your new address, we install a fresh battery there on a new agreement. One move is free if it’s more than 12 months in; any other move costs $500.
Family and community housing trusts join one dwelling at a time, with the trust as the contracting party. We work through the portfolio at whatever pace suits the trust, and each dwelling gets its own agreement and its own rate for its area.
A standard single household connection, which covers almost every home in New Zealand. Three phase homes, more common on lifestyle blocks and homes with heavy equipment, are on the list for a later release. If you are unsure which you have, enter your address and we will tell you. Some housing types, such as apartments, may be added to our offer later.
That you intend to be there for the three years the agreement runs. The no-cost battery, the lower power rate and the battery staying ours to maintain are all built on that. If your circumstances change, there is a clear process for moving, and leaving early has a break fee, published upfront, that drops as the term runs down. It is all set out in the agreement.
